Objective: To increase engagement for the client’s app. Help clients achieve their campaign goal, that includes, acquire new users, promote brand awareness or retarget existing users.
Solution: Design custom interactive ad unit for each clients according to their goals. Interactive ads draws more engagement with the ads and more engagement converts to more clicks and installs. Example here includes instructional demo for ride share apps and playable game preview for mobile games.
Objective: To design a package tracking app for a drone delivery service using UX research and design principles. As drone delivery technology is getting better everyday, this app aims to match up with the advancement and make drone delivery easier and safer for the users.
Solution: I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through re - search was people shops online a lot. Most common problem these people deals with are porch pirate and item not arriving on time. Drone delivery can solve both of those issues, however most of these people aren’t familiar with drone delivery. A few ways I intend on solving this issue is to give user more manually control via live camera drop off, provide more tutorials and tips in the app, design the colors and buttons to be consistent with its functions, while also allowing the user to fully automate the process if they have accessibility needs. See project slides for more details.
Problem: As a frequent customer of Alaska Airline, I find the navigation of the Alaska App difficult to navigate. As shown in the screens below. The basic structure of the app consists of 4 main function tabs at the bottom and a drop down menu on the top left on the home page. However, 3 out of the 4 tabs are for bookings while many of the important features are hidden away in the home tab’s drop down menu. A few of the key functionality are hidden and some of the interaction elements aren't user friendly.
Objective: In this redesign project, I will work to resolve the issue of repetitive booking features and make other app feature more accessible.
Solution: Feature more functions on the Trips and Book tab of the navigation bar. Make the main menu button more accessible. See slide for more detail explaination.
Objective: To experiment with a different navigation for the Figo Pet Insurance app in the user interface with the goal to improve the user experience.
Solution: Redesign the navigation bar at the bottom. Reducing from 5 tabs to 4 tabs, it simplifies the user flow while leaving more space for the icons. Moving the notification page from the bottom navbar to the top right of the home page, since its functionality doesn’t justify it taking up 1 of 5 main menu options. Moving the search icon from the Explore page to the top left, so that it remain consistent with the Connect page, and also doesn’t cover up the Vet button in the bottom right.
Objective: The application is for Physicians training to become specialists in Emergency Medicine spend three to four years after completion of medical school in an Emergency Medicine Residency Program. During those years they work in hospitals under the supervision of faculty physicians who teach them, evaluate their performance and give feedback. Evaluative data is collated and presented to each resident individually by a Program Director twice a year. The ultimate goal is that each resident, on completion of training be capable of practicing the specialty of emergency Medicine safely and capably on their own. Physicians in post graduate training were evaluated on the basis of their performance on six Core Competencies: Patient Care, Medical Knowledge, Practice-Based Learning and Improvement, Interpersonal and Communication Skills, Professionalism, and Systems-Based Practice.
Solution: With two other teammates, we did research on data organizing, discuss idea with the residency director, and created interface design for every possible screens for the application. After 6 weeks of work, our group won the 1st place in the design competition against seven other groups.
